Cooperative property management
A home should feel like kinship, not a transaction.
Kinship helps tenants, small property owners, and managers build steady, caring housing together. Sometimes we manage a property. Sometimes we join a home as a co-tenant. Either way, we take the stress out of shared living.
Two ways we show up
Every household is different. We meet people where they are.
As a property manager
We handle rent, repairs, communication, and subletting, so owners can rest easy and tenants feel cared for.
As a co-tenant
When full management isn't the fit, we can sign onto a lease alongside the people already living there and coordinate the household from the inside.
What we actually do
For owners
Stable rent every month. Better-cared-for buildings. Subletting handled. Options from full management to light-touch co-tenancy.
For renters
Rent made simple. Repairs you can learn to do. Advocacy when a landlord isn't responsive. Help when you're behind.
For managers
A partner who takes subletting, tenant communication, and advocacy off your plate, so you can focus on the rest.
Property owners: see the dashboard first
A living, date-stamped status board for your property, kept current by your lead tenant. Try it with sample data — no login needed.
Our bigger picture
Housing shouldn't feel like a transaction. It should feel like a home, in a neighborhood, among neighbors you'd lend a cup of sugar to and get one back when you needed it.
Over time, Kinship is working to acquire our own properties, partner with Indigenous-led landback efforts, and build a network where the people around us stay housed, fed, and cared for.
We start small. We grow in spirals. We do it together.
